Common Sense

Before I read this chapter, I thought common sense is a just a knowledge that everyone should know to keep and establish the public order. However, the book defined common sense as the taken-for-granted assumption about the way the world works. Take-for-granted. I think this word has really dangerous meaning. The reason why is because people start to think something about not special, and just think it as a daily routine. For example, when the sun goes down and the world has become dark, people turn on the light so they can to something in a bright area. Electricity is such a big common sense in this world right now. Also, people are creating things that not even useful to waste the electricity. In my opinion, dryer is the most useless machine in this world and it is the most wasteful thing in this world. After the laundry, we can just hang our clothes anywhere we want to dry itself. However, even though house in America are much bigger than other countries, people waste electricity by using dryer.
