What is COMMON Chapter 4 blog #4

The ideas of common sense have been a long running issue for most. Do we know what commonsense actually is? have we ever encountered a time when using common sense worked. Well It is simple, common sense is all around us and I am willing to bet that the majority of us use common sense each and every day. It is becoming harder to gauge what we should consider "common" in this new day and age but I will try to make some sense of this.

Common sense actually been given a bad rap. Since we all have come from different backgrounds we all have a blurred vision of to what "common" actually is. I commend the authors for trying to make some since of this but it truly is harder than it seems. Common is now so diverse and spread out that in many cases it may be a mixture of things we have learned from different people. How we perceive a situation may be totally different than the next person. Addressing the issue head on is some what of a task and if we do not have any opened mind common no longer even matters to us as people.

Chapter 4 is predominately describing the idea of common. In theory we all have common sense. But to what degree you ask? Well as I said earlier common is now so diverse that we must begin to understand that your common is different than my common. We all see things in a different light so we must make sure that we have a bit of wiggle room to understand for instance, another culture, race, religion, orientation, and so on. We are a huge melting pot so ideas of common are forever changing. One many think it is commonsense to do things for his/her family that we would never imagine as right but again we need to look into where they grew up and who they grew up around. My mom and dad even have different ideas of what common sense actually is and how to handle certain things that come up. It is very interesting how uncommon The "common" in the sense actually is.
